Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States and is so big that there are several marinas located on it. Hiking is obviously a favorite activity at Red Rocks as is biking. Many people cycle on the loop road on their bikes is a one way loop that takes you through some beautiful scenery. Rock climbing is also a great activity to do here and if you want to stay in the outdoors, they also have camping available.
Vegas has become a favorite place to host triathlons of every distance. The perfect year round climate, the access to Lake Mead and the fun of Las Vegas draw many triathletes here to compete in a race. The toughest triathlon there is named The Silverman Triathlon and is a full Ironman distance as well as a half and is found to be quite difficult traveling through the desert and into mountains as well.
