Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States and is so larfe that there are many marinas located on it. There are many great water activities you can particpate in on Lake Mead from swimming, water skiing, boating and exploring. Hiking is obviously a big activity at Red Rocks as is biking. Many people enjoy the loop road on their bikes is a one way loop that takes you through some beautiful scenery. Rock climbing is also a wonderful activity to do here and if you wish to stay in the outdoors, they also have camping available.
Vegas has become a popular spot to host triathlons of all distances. The great year round climate, the access to Lake Mead and the fun of Las Vegas draw many triathletes here to compete in a race. The hardest triathlon there is named The Silverman Triathlon and is a full Ironman distance in addition to a half and is very challenging traveling through the desert and into mountains as well.
