The University of Georgia is one of the biggest universities in the state with 25,000 undergrads and over eight thousand graduate students. This school is famous for being the first state supported university and started in 1785. The University of Georgia is located in Athens and brings in 80% of its students from the state, although they have students from many different countries that go to this school. They were named 5th in the nation for having the most students participate in study abroad programs and also host the Peabody Awards recognizes those who have shown excellence in TV and radio news.

The final school is Georgia State University which is famous for being the states top urban research university and was created in 1913. It is located in downtown Atlanta giving the students a great opportunity to live and be educated in one of America’s best cities. It was recently listed in the Top 100 public universities for doctoral degrees and has over forty thousand undergraduate and graduate students seeking degrees. Many alumni, who graduated from Georgia State are employed in the research fields in different fields.
